Belarus and the EU made certain progress in consultations on relaxing visa requirements in Brussels on 24-25 November, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported. In Brussels the parties reviewed their counter-proposals. Some progress was reached, and consultations on easing visa requirements between Belarus and the EU will continue in Minsk early next year.
Belarus’ proposals were voiced before the consultations in Brussels.
The first round of the consultations took place in Minsk on 12-13 June. The Belarusian side proposed the European Commission to amend the text of a number of provisions in the draft agreements aimed at the facilitation of visa application rules, extension of their validity and simplifying mutual trips of citizens in general.
