Belarus' Yanka Kupala Academic Theater will open its 95th season with the Pavlinka play in Tomsk on 9 September,BelTA quotes editor of the public relations department of the theater Veronika Molokova. This year the theater marks the 70th anniversary of the renowned Pavlinka staged by Lev Litvinov in the Russian city Tomsk in 1944 where the theater was based during WWII.
The Yanka Kupala Theater company will perform on the invitation of the Tomsk Oblast Governor. The plays will be shown as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture to pay the tribute to the memory of outstanding fellow countrymen, authors and participants of the play that became a visiting card of the Belarusian theater art.
Apart from Pavlinka, the Kupala Theater tour to Tomsk will include Christmas Eve by Nikolai Pinigin and Yekaterina Averkova’s Office.
