Turkmen jewelry on display at Minsk History Museum


       Jewelry made by Turkmen masters is on display in Minsk for one day. A collection of women’s national jewelry can be seen at the History Museum in Minsk for the first time in 30 years, BelTA reports. The exhibition comprises several dozens of adornments, including brooches, pendants, earrings, bracelets, headgear. The weight of some adornments exceeds 40kg. The exposition is held as part of the Turkmenistan Days of Culture. The ethnography exhibition was brought by the Mary Province Local History Museum. It features attire for women, men and children, tablecloths, carpets, etc. The exhibition was visited by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus Murad Yazberdiev, Deputy Culture Minister of Belarus Vasily Chernik, diplomats. “The cooperation between our countries in culture and other fields is increasingly vibrant. It is a great achievement of the heads of state who pay huge attention to bilateral cooperation,” Vasily Chernik said at the opening of the exhibition.
       Murad Yazberdiev thanked the Culture Ministry of Belarus for the organization of the Days of Culture. In his words, it is symbolic that the event is held in the Year of Hospitality.
