Wreath placed at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow on behalf of Belarusian President

On behalf of the President of the Republic of Belarus the wreath was placed at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin Wall in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

Flowers were laid at the memorial signs "Minsk Hero City" and "Brest Hero Fortress" in the Alexander Garden.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Deputy State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Ivan Bambiza, members of the ministers)of the Eurasian Economic Commission, diplomats, and other officials.

The military band of the Kremlin Honor Guards played the national anthem of the Republic of Belarus. The unit of the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Commandant's Regiment took part in the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony Belarusian Ambassador Igor Petrishenko presented the medal "70 years of liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders” to the war veterans who took part in the Bagration offensive operation.
