Performance indicators for Customs Union border checkpoints


       Representatives of the business communities of the Customs Union member states will determine criteria to judge the performance of Customs Union border checkpoints. The decision was made by the first session of the consultative committee for cooperation between auditing bodies at the Customs Union customs border in Moscow, BelTA reports. The performance criteria will be worked out taking into account the parameters used to make relevant international rankings. After discussions with auditing agencies the performance indicators are likely to be used to assess the operation of border checkpoints at the Customs Union border.
      The session gathered representatives of auditing bodies and the business communities of the Customs Union member states. The sides discussed the monitoring of the operation of border checkpoints, the application of modern information technologies and better information interaction at the interstate level, ways to improve the universal standards for accomplishing border checkpoints.
