The draft Eurasian Economic Union Treaty will be submitted for domestic procedures, Belarus’ representative in the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Rumas told media, BelTA has learned.
At a meeting in Moscow the council agreed on the draft EEC Treaty. According to Sergei Rumas, the participants of the meeting polished the provisions of the treaty, which had previously been agreed upon by the Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia at a meeting in April in Minsk. “We went through on all sections of the draft to make sure the wordings suit all member countries,” said Sergei Rumas.
The Belarusian ministries concerned will hold a meeting to discuss the draft. On 20 May, the document will be on the agenda of a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
Sergei Rumas noted that a number of sensitive issues for Belarus, including oil refining, industrial assembly, and transport, will be regulated in a bilateral format by Belarus and Russia. "I hope that this work will also be completed by the time of signing the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union,” said Sergei Rumas.
