Belarus president in favor of internal reserves to resist any sanctions

The mobilization of internal reserves can help resist any sanctions. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement on 9 May when asked by mass media, BelTA has learned.
As an example Alexander Lukashenko mentioned the woodworking industry, which is well-supplied with raw materials in Belarus and Russia, the relevant enterprises operate, but even then they have to compete with foreign products on the home market. “I told the president of Russia about it: why can’t we mobilize our internal reserves and get the enterprises working at 120% of their capacity, get them to make the products we need and sell them on the home market? We can do the same in all the market segments,” noted the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko said he believes that Ukraine should not lose its traditional market. “Once all these events are over, Ukraine will work and live in line with these rules. [The West] doesn’t need the huge economic complex of Ukraine. They have enough already. Ukraine should count on this market and at least keep it,” believes the Belarus President.
