FC BATE Borisov celebrated their first victory in the Champions League group stage, in which they take part for the third time.
On the 19th of September in group F BATE defeated LOSC Lille in their starting away match with the score 3:1.
Let’s note that it is hard to recall such a well-organized, pragmatic and efficient play, which FC BATE produced in that match. So, the victory of the Belarusian club was well-deserved.
The visitors were playing number one, with big confidence and self-respect. Some 6 minutes into the game Alexander Volodko scored the first goal for BATE.
In the 20th minute BATE had a perfect counterattack. Aleksandr Hleb skipped past Chedjou and fed the ball left to Aleksandr Pavlov, who then squared for Rodionov to steer in.
Some 2 minutes from halftime the hosts conceded a third goal. It was Edgar Olekhnovich who made the score 3:0 for BATE.
In the second half the French team tried to change the course of the match and attacked a lot. However, all they managed to do was to cut Borisov advantage to two goals. In the 60th minute Chedjou's scored for Lille.
In the other match of group F FC Bayern Munich defeated Spanish Valencia at home with the score 2:1.
On the second matchday on October 2 NATE will host Bayern, while LOSC Lille will go to Valencia.
