Białoruś i Czechy powinne bardziej aktywnie rozwijać współpracę regionalną. O tym powiedział Nadzwyczajny i Pełnomocny Ambasador Czech na Białorusi Milan Ekert podczas spotkania z prezesem Brzeskiego Obwodowego Komitetu Wykonawczego Kanstancinem Sumarem, powiadomiła agencja informacyjna BELTA. Milan Ekert odznaczył: „Chciałoby się, by takie bezpośrednie stosunki zostały nawiązane pomiędzy Brzeszczyzną a jednym z regionów naszego kraju”. Kanstancin Sumar podtrzymał taką propozycję, odznaczywszy, że na Brzeszczyznie będą radzi nawiązaniu stosunków na poziomie regionalnym. Według prezesa, obwód Brzeski ma dobre doświadczenie w planie współpracy z Czechami. W regionie pracuje szereg przedsiębirostw czeskich inwestorów, które dobrze siebie pokazały w dziedzinie energetyki, logistyki. Jednak obecność czeskiego kapitału na terytorium obwodu należy rozwijać. Chociaż tempo wzrostu obrotu zewnątrzhandlowego pomiędzy Brzeszczyzną a Czechami w 2013 roku wyniosło niemal 160%, poziom handlu wzajemnego na razie nie jest wysoki – 43 mln 500 tys. dolarów. „Uważam, że mamy wiele wspólnych zadań, które moglibyśmy rozwiązywać i przez to zwiększać eksport”, - powiedział prezes Brzeskiego Obwodowego Komitetu Wykonawczego. Perspektywnymi kierunkami współpracy według Kanstancina Sumara może być nie tylko eksport towarów, lecz także i usług – transportowych, budowlanych, turystycznych. Wyjście współpracy pomiędzy obu krajami na nowy, bardziej wysoki poziom, jest według Milana Ekerta jego bezpośrednią misją.
