Ponad 30 porozumień o współpracy zostały zawarte pomiędzy obwodem Grodzieńskim a regionami Wspólnoty Niepodległych Państw. O tym poinformowano w Grodzieńskim Obwodowym Komitecie Wykonawczym podczas spotkania gubernatora obwodu Semena Szapiry z przedstawicielami regionów państw-uczestników Wspólnoty. Jak odznaczył podczas rozmowy zastępca kierownika zarządu do spraw integracji euroazjatyckiej – naczelnik oddziału WNP Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych Białorusi Rusłan Jesin, Białoruś posiada poważne doświadczenie współpracy z sąsiadami. Przy tym ostatnio szczególnie ważną jest właśnie współpraca regionalna, która pozwala doskonalić stosunki pomiędzy krajami i podwyższać dobrobyt ludzi. Jak podkreślił Semen Szapiro, obwód Grodzieński jest zainteresowany w aktywnym rozwoju kontaktów z regionami krajów WNP. Obecnie zostały zawarte 32 porozumienia o współpracy handlowo-gospodarczej, naukowo-technicznej i kulturalnej, w tym 21 porozumienie z regionami Federacji Rosyjskiej (z krajem Ałtajskim, obwodami Biełgorodzkim, Brańskim, Wołogodzkim, Wołgogradzkim, Woronieskim, Kaliningradzkim, Lipeckim, Moskiewskim, Nowgorodzkim, Nowosybirskim, Twerskim, rejonem Centalnym miasta Sankt-Petersburg, Moskwą, Północno-Zachodnim Okręgiem Administracyjnym Moskwy). Z obwodami Ukrainy działa 6 porozumień (z Kijowskim, Dniepropietrowskim, Winnickim, Odeskim, Czerkaskim, Czernihowskim), z akimatami Kazachstanu – trzy porozumienia (z Aktiubińskim, Mangistauskim, Kostanajskim). Także zostały zawarte porozumienia o współpracy z Dżamał-Abadskim obwodem Kyrgystanu i Szyrakskim marzem Armenii. Zawarte umowy o współpracy sprzyjają zorganizowaniu wizyt kręgów biznesowych, przeprowadzenie wystaw i targów oraz giełd kontaktowo-kooperacyjnych, co pozytywnie odbija się na liczbie handlu zewnętrznego, podkreślił gubernator obwodu Grodzieńskiego. W skład delgacji przedstawicieli regionów Wspólnoty wchodzą przedstawiciele Kazachstanu, Kyrgystanu, Mołdowy, Rosji, Turkmenistanu, Ukrainy.
