The agreement on opening a medium-term credit line was signed by the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and the Hungarian Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) in Budapest, the Belarusian Embassy in Hungary reports. The document was signed at the Hungarian parliament. State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of the Hungarian government, co-chair of the Belarus-Hungary commission for economic cooperation Peter Szijjarto pointed to the importance of this document for the development of the bilateral trade and foreign economic links.
He noted that Hungary’s eastern policy provides for closer ties with its eastern neighbors. The loan agreement is meant to facilitate and financially support foreign trade between Belarus and Hungary.
The embassy underlined that the Belarus-Hungary economic cooperation has been gaining momentum. In 2013, the bilateral trade made up $228.8 million (109% as against 2012).
