Belarus makes a significant contribution to the work of the UNESCO, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova said when speaking at the roundtable dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Belarus and Russia’s membership in the organization, we learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
The roundtable was organized by the permanent missions of Belarus and the Russian Federation at the UNESCO. Irina Bokova highlighted the great role which Belarus and Russia play in this largest international organization, and spoke of the development prospects of the cooperation. The event was attended by Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the UNESCO Pavel Latushko, the Permanent Representative of Russia to the UNESCO Eleonora Mitrofanova, permanent representatives of a number of foreign states accredited at the UNESCO, officials of the UNESCO secretariat, foreign media.
The UNESCO Headquarters hosted an opening of a joint exhibition of BelTA and ITAR-TASS prepared in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry of Belarus and the Foreign Ministry of Russia. The exposition is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the membership of the two countries in this international organization.
