The catalogue Treasures of Belarusian Museums - the first edition featuring the most valuable museum items of the country - was presented in Minsk, BelTA reports. The 500-page catalogue contains information about 250 rare items from 32 national and regional museums of Belarus. It features unique collections of works of icon painting, sculpture, carving, and applied and decorative arts of great cultural and artistic value. The catalogue has been issued in three languages: Belarusian, Russian, and English. The catalogue has been created for the presentation of the Belarusian culture abroad and is expected to contribute to cooperation with other countries. The book already has become part of the funds of the National Library, regional and university libraries.
The catalogue Treasures of Belarusian Museums has been created with the support of the Belarusian Culture Ministry. At the moment the Culture Institute is considering the creation of another volume of the catalogue featuring artifacts from the 19th – 20th centuries.
