A memorial plaque to famous painter Marc Chagall was solemnly unveiled in the Tsentralny District of St. Petersburg.
The tablet was placed on the building where the artist and his wife Bella lived from 1915 to 1918. The palette-style plaque is made of granite with the addition of smalt. The author of the memorial plaque is architect Vyacheslav Bukhayev. Belarus-native Marc Chagall was one of the most famous representatives of the 20th-century avant-garde, an outstanding graphic and theater artist, illustrator. Marc Chagall’s works are known worldwide. The artist’s pictures are exhibited in the biggest museums of Russia, France, the United States and other countries.
