The Belarusian national handball team have begun preparation for the playoff matches of the 2015 IHF World Men's Handball Championship which have been scheduled for June, we learnt from the Belarusian Handball Federation.
Head coach Yuri Shevtsov’s team, which includes 20 handball players, is training at the National Center of the Olympic Reserve in Minsk. The training camp will conclude on 9 March.
Belarus will play Montenegro in the playoff, with their first game scheduled to take place in Montenegro on 7 or 8 June. The return leg will be played in Belarus on 14 or 15 June 2014.
Eight other pairs will compete for places at the World Handball Championship.
Such European teams as Spain, France, Denmark and Croatia have already qualified for the 24th World Men's Handball Championship which will be held in Qatar in January 2015.
