Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk one of Year of Hospitality’s cultural highlights


      The 23rd International Festival of Arts "Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be one of the highlights of the cultural events as part of the Year of Hospitality, the press service of the Belarusian government told media. This year the festival will be held from 10 to 14 July. Its main idea is to bring together the Slavic cultures and peoples at Belarus’ national cultural center – the hospitable city of Vitebsk. The key activities on the program of the festival are the gala opening and closing concerts, the 23rd International Song Contest Vitebsk 2014, the 12th International Junior Song Contest Vitebsk 2014 and also a concert as part of the Day of Friendship on 13 July. It will be dedicated to the 70th anniversary of liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and upcoming 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War to be marked in 2015. The format of the contests will be changed. The National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus will create a special television project about national selection rounds for the international song contest and the junior song contest, about the preparation of the nation selection winners for the event. The main festival venue (the Summer Amphitheatre) is expected to host a total of 19 concerts, including 4 night concerts.
