Belarusian Railways will launch an online booking service in English in March.
At present the company is working on the English version of its corporate website. In February the following sections of the website became available in English: Passenger Services, Freight, Corporate, and Timetable.
An important part of the effort was to compile a reference book of railway stations and stopping points of the Belarusian railways in line with the transliteration requirements and instructions approved by the State Committee on Land Resources, Geodesy and Cartography of Belarus. The reference book passed examination at the National Toponymy Commission of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The press service informed that the company has plans to launch an automated service providing up-to-date schedule of commuter, regional, interregional and international train service in the second quarter of 2014. The company will take into consideration the recommendations and wishes of our customers. Belarusian Railways will offer new services, like smart search for the names of stations allowing for spelling variations, a choice of stations using an electronic scheme of Belarusian Railways, and automated route planning with transfers. The new automated system will be available in three languages – Russian, Belarusian and English.
