The Peace Light from Bethlehem arrives in Grodno, Belarus. The light lit from the Lampion of the Bethlehem Basilica of the Nativity of Christ was delivered to the Belarusian-Polish border. Representatives of Belarusian youth organizations brought it to the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, the main Catholic church of Grodno.
The Bethlehem light was lit at the main altar of the cathedral. Believers will be able to light a candle and take the Bethlehem light home after the mass. The light will stay there until Christmas. The tradition has become very popular with Grodno residents as the Peace Light from Bethlehem has been brought to the Grodno Cathedral Church for over ten years already. Young Catholics will bring the light to all the parishes of the Grodno Eparchy. Besides, Russian scouts will deliver the symbolic Christmas light to Russia.
