United Arab Emirates to hold a Belarusian-UAE symposium on sci-tech cooperation

The United Arab Emirates plan to hold a Belarusian-UAE symposium on sci-tech cooperation. The prospects of organizing a joint Belarusian-UAE symposium were discussed at the meeting of Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus in the UAE Roman Golovchenko and Director of the UAE National Research Foundation Husam Al Ulama. The symposium will be held to define concrete areas of sci-tech cooperation. The parties discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation in research and transfer of technologies. The Director of the UAE National Research Foundation got familiar with the structure of the scientific sector and the main areas of the research activity in Belarus. Belarus and the UAE have been steadily developing trade, economic, investment, sci-tech cooperation. In March 2013 the Belarusian embassy organized the country’s presentation at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Dubai. In April 2013 Minsk played host to the first meeting of the joint committee on cooperation between the Government of Belarus and the Government of the United Arab Emirates, chaired by Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Anwar Gargash.
