Belarus and Krasnoyarsk Territory of Russia enjoy successful partnership, but there is room for even more effective cooperation, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Governor of Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov on 19 May, BelTA has learned.
The head of state highlighted trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Krasnoyarsk Territory. "I must note that our cooperation is quite fruitful. Trade volume shows this: it usually hovers around $200 million, sometimes a bit more, sometimes less," the president said. “But we can considerably increase this figure due to the potential we possess.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that the key areas for developing cooperation are well known. Among them is the supply of machinery and equipment for the mining industry. "We have plenty of such equipment, including BelAZ trucks, and we are ready to cooperate both with you and with other regions of the Russian Federation wherever possible," the head of state said.
The president also expressed Belarus' readiness to supply Krasnoyarsk Territory with trucks made by Amkodor and MAZ, which have already proven their worth in the Russian market.
"Replacing elevator equipment has recently become a particularly relevant issue for Belarus and Russia. There is no getting around it: the elevators installed in Soviet times have already exceeded their service life. This is why we are supplying a large number of elevators to the former Soviet countries, primarily to the Russian Federation. I know there is such a need in your region too, and you can count on us," Aleksandr Lukashenko assured.
