The policy of sanctions against Belarus is a road to nowhere, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said as he met with Chairman of the France-Belarus friendship group Gerald Darmanin in Minsk.
“We believe that many our partners in Europe have come to understand it. Therefore, we suggest the following cooperation pattern. We realize that there are serious issues that should be resolved, but this cannot be done overnight. It needs time. However, there are a number of areas where we can and should cooperate,” Vladimir Makei said.
“We agree that a dialogue is the only way to find the right solutions,” Gerald Darmanin said commenting on a statement made by Vladimir Makei. The French MP noted that despite a similar historical and cultural background, the two countries are facing certain difficulties.
The French MP told reporters that France and Belarus are considering bilateral projects in economy and politics. The Belarusian Embassy in France greatly contributes to the promotion of the bilateral ties.
