Language skills training for retail and hospitality personnel in Belarus ahead of IIHF WC

       As Belarus is approaching the 2014 IIHF World Championship, special attention is paid to foreign language skills training of personnel in the retail and hospitality industries, Belarusian Trade Minister Valentin Chekanov said at the session of the subcommittee on trade and catering held as part of the preparations for the 2014 IIHF World Championship.
      At the moment specialists working in the trade and hospitality industries have been placed in foreign language courses (English, German, French, etc.). According to Valentin Chekanov, it is highly important that guests of Belarus and participants of the championship get high-quality customer services from the personnel who speak foreign languages. 
      The session was held following the visit of the minister to the multifunctional sports and entertainment center Chizhovka Arena. The session also discussed the accommodation of guests and participants of the championship. Valentin Chekanov heard out the suggestions on a number of issues related to the preparations for the championship, and gave relevant recommendations and instructions. Besides, the minister emphasized that the Belarusian trade system is ready for the largest events including the 2014 IIHF World Championship.
