Lukashenko on forthcoming visit to China: This is the future of our country

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized the importance of the forthcoming visit to China for the development of the country as he spoke at a meeting with the chairpersons of oblast executive committees and Minsk City Hall on 3 January, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian president explained that he had invited the heads of regions to talk about the organization of the presidential election. He decided to hold the meeting because the tight schedule would not allow him to hold such a meeting in the future. In addition to the traditional festive New Year and Christmas events or such events as For Spiritual Revival award ceremony, the head of state is set to pay a visit to China before the presidential election.

“The schedule includes international visits, a visit to China. Such visits cannot be missed out. This is the future of our country. What is a meeting with Xi Jinping and a visit to China? It is the future of our country. Cooperation with China is a great thing,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

“It is important to hold traditional events and I simply will not have time to organize, control this election campaign. That is why I ask you to organize everything properly,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
