Team Uzbekistan arrives for CIS Games in Belarus

Team Uzbekistan arrived in Minsk for the 2nd CIS Games, BelTA has learned.

Team Uzbekistan will compete in various sports: boxing, track and field, gymnastics, handball, judo and others. Many of them noted that this is their first time in Belarus and that they have the highest expectations of the upcoming Games.

"This is my first time in Belarus. In terms of expectations we have our eyes on winning. We also would be happy to see your country. The program of the Games is very rich, but I hope that we will have time to get to know Belarus," said Oisha Tulkin Kizi Toirova, a member of Team Uzbekistan.

"We still have a little time before the Games start. So we will be training. We need to tune in," Javokhir Ummataliev said. “I am sure that the competitions will be held at the highest level. I've been to Minsk before, and I really liked the city."

Darya Zhilina, who will compete in track and field for Team Uzbekistan, noted the warm welcome at the airport. "We arrived to a very warm welcome. It was a very long flight. That was the first time I flew so far. It's also my first time in Belarus. I haven't seen anything yet, but I hope to see more of your country.  Team Uzbekistan aspires to win. We hope to perform well," the athlete shared her expectations of the Games.
