Business unions of Belarus, Russia seen as instrumental in promoting exports to new markets

Combining the potentials of business unions of Belarus and Russia will help promote exports to new markets, the Economy Ministry’s press service quoted Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich as saying, BelTA learned.

Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich and Deputy Director of the Entrepreneurship Department Irina Babachenok met with Aleksandr Kalinin, the president of the all-Russian non-governmental organization of small and medium-sized businesses Opora Rossiyi and Ilya Fedorov, representative of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development in Belarus.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the cooperation between SMEs, the possibility of implementing joint projects, including in industrial cooperation, combining efforts of business unions and associations of the two states to tap into new export markets of the countries of the South-Eastern region and Africa.

The parties agreed to provide assistance in organizing participation of small and medium-sized businesses in economic forums, exhibitions and other events held for entrepreneurs in Belarus and the Russian Federation.
