Belarus sends another batch of relief aid to Türkiye

In pursuance of the instruction of the Belarusian head of state, the Emergencies Ministry and other interested parties quickly put together humanitarian aid for Türkiye that suffered from the devastating earthquake. On 17 February Belarus sent another batch of relief aid to Türkiye, Emergencies Ministry Spokesman Yevgeny Baranovsky told BelTA.

According to him, the second batch of the aid was requested by and agreed on with the Turkish side. It was provided by the Belarusian light industry concern (3 types of children’s warm clothing), the Industry Ministry (396 folding beds, 400 mattresses), the Belarusian Women’s Union (personal hygiene products, children’s clothing, sleeping bags, etc.) and the Belarusian Red Cross Society (2,016 blankets, 250 travel mats, 340 sleeping bags). The total weight of the cargo is 10,000 kg, the volume is approximately 170 cubic meters. According to Yevgeny Baranovsky, the cargo is worth over Br200,000.

The humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaziantep, the Republic of Türkiye, by the air transport of the Armed Forces of Belarus from the Machulishchi airfield.

Yevgeny Baranovsky added that on 17 February the second part of the rescue team, namely 32 employees of the ZUBR special forces, and two vehicles will be brought back to Belarus. They will be flown in by the aircraft of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

A reminder, on 15 February, the aircraft of the Armed Forces of Belarus delivered the first batch of humanitarian cargo to Gaziantep. The cargo included 10 frame tents, 3,900 half-woolen blankets, 7 types of medicines, personal hygiene products, children’s clothing, sleeping bags and other items. Their total weight is about 20,000 kg and their volume is 180 cubic meters.
