Youth for the Union State festival opens in Rostov-on-Don

Russia’s Rostov-on-Don became a center of music art as the festival, Youth for the Union State. This year the forum has gathered 250 participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. A popular song competition will highlight the forum. Partaking in the competition will be 17 contestants aged between 16 and 25. The contestants will be assessed by a professional panel of judges. The program of the festival envisages meetings with students, singers, friendship meetings between the youth of Belarus and Russia, a youth concert relay race in the cities of Rostov Oblast. Apart from that the PA commission for social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues will hold a meeting with the participation of representatives of legislative and executive bodies, civil youth organizations of Belarus and Russia. The festival will conclude on 20 September.
The first festival, Youth for the Union State, is another step to make young people of Belarus and Russia closer to each other, strengthen friendly ties and cooperation between the brotherly Slavic nations. The first forum was held in Anapa in 2006. The festival was also held in Rostov-on-Don and the cities of Rostov Oblast. The major goal of the forum is to support talented youth.
