Austrian-Belarusian Economic Forum due in Vienna on 1-2 October

         The Austrian-Belarusian Economic Forum will be held in Vienna on 1-2 October. The issues related to the forum were discussed during a visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Valery Vorontesky to Carinthia. The Belarusian Ambassador met with State Governor of Carinthia Dr. Peter Kaiser. During the meeting the parties discussed the ways of expanding trade, economic and investment ties and also the cooperation in culture and tourism. Special attention was paid to the regional cooperation within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Minsk Oblast and Carinthia. In particular, the parties discussed a possibility of exchanging business visits between the two regions, participation of the Minsk Oblast authorities and regional business community in the Economic Forum of the Central and Eastern European countries to be held in Austria in September 2014.
       The Ambassador also met with representatives of the business community of Carinthia to discuss new opportunities for investment in Belarus in the light of the establishment of the Eurasian economic space. The business community of the region was invited to participate in the Austrian-Belarusian Economic Forum in Vienna, and also to make part of the Austrian business delegation to Belarus
