BelGee set to make 35,000 cars in 2023

The BelGee car manufacturer plans to produce at least 35,000 cars in 2023, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The company had certain difficulties this year. However, all issues have been resolved. In October the plant produced 3,100 cars. The task for November is to produce more than 4,000 cars. In December the car manufacturer plans to make 5,000 vehicles. Thus, the total for the year will be slightly more than 25,000 cars. The number is a bit smaller than in 2021 when 29,400 cars were made. Considering that the structure has changed and we began producing more complex and expensive cars, the amount in terms of money will be at the level of 2021 - more than $500 million,” said Piotr Parkhomchik.

According to the deputy prime minister, the plans for next year are to produce at least 35,000 cars. The plant has a direct task from the president to reach the design capacity of 60,000 cars a year. Now it is important to understand if we can sell so many cars on the Belarusian market and on the market of the Russian Federation. If these figures are confirmed, and the market is ready to consume such a number of cars, then we will build our work and plans to fulfill the task,” he stressed.
