Belarus’ vice premier speaks about BelGee plant, work on Belarus-Russia car

The BelGee car manufacturer will start operating at full capacity in September, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“We are producing cars. We have managed to solve virtually all the issues with our Chinese partners and the plant starts operating at full capacity in September. I had a video conference with our partners, and they have confirmed the supply of all necessary machine sets for this year. We will continue working in this direction,” said Piotr Parkhomchik.

In his words, the development of a passenger car is also being worked out with the Russian Federation. “We continue discussing passenger car production. There are some issues there. We also want to have these competencies. There are a lot of points of contact, which will be discussed and solutions will be found in the near future. There are proposals from Iran on passenger car making. A working group of our specialists has been created to include the public sector and private companies. It is clear that it will be an electric car or a hybrid version. The main area of activity is electric transport. I think we will talk about it in detail in the near future,” the deputy prime minister said.
