Harvest of grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize) is almost complete in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of early 29 August grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from 95% of the planned area (2.066 million hectares).
Brest Oblast has increased its harvesting area up to 356,600. According to the update information, harvesting in the region was completed on 98% of the target (349,400 hectares), 89.1% (321,100 hectares) in Vitebsk Oblast, 96.7% (337,300 hectares) in Gomel Oblast, 95.6% (298,600 hectares) in Grodno Oblast, 96.2% (441,300 hectares) in Minsk Oblast, and 94.3% (318,900 hectares) in Mogilev Oblast.
Agricultural workers harvested millet from 2,470 hectares, or 20.9% of the target, threshing 5,940 tonnes with the average yield at 24 centners per hectare. Buckwheat was cropped from 3,360 hectares (9.72%) with 4,420 tonnes threshed (the average yield - 13.1 centners per hectare).
Belarus threshed 7.612 million tonnes of grain, with the average yield at 36.8 centners per hectare. Last year the average yield at this stage of harvesting was lower, 30.7 centners per hectare.
Rapeseed was cut from 318,600 hectares of land (88.1% of the designated area), with 833,400 tonnes threshed (the average yield stood at 26.2 centners per hectare).
The procurement plan for 2022 will make up 811,400 tonnes of grain.
