Belarusian commodity exchange seeks to promote timber export to Pakistan

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange is willing to hold special trading sessions for timber products with delivery to end consumers in Pakistan, BelTA learned from the press service of BUCE.

Aleksandr Bashliy, Head of the Foreign Relations Office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, put forward this idea  during online negotiations with Pakistani timber importers. The event was organized by the National Center for Marketing and Price Study in cooperation with the Embassy of Belarus in Pakistan and the All Pakistan Timber Traders Association.

Special export trading sessions are one of the most effective tools for ensuring regular supplies of Belarusian goods to target markets. "Last year, thanks to special trading sessions, we significantly increased the export of timber products to China and the UK. Today we make an active use of this tool in trade with Azerbaijan. In January-May, our timber export to that market rose almost threefold. The main advantage of special trading sessions provide us with the opportunity to offer goods to  direct consumers at a competitive price, while foreign companies do not need to worry about logistics, since goods purchased on the stock exchange can be picked up in the country of destination. Thus, this exchange tool serves the interests of both Belarusian and Pakistani companies, providing an additional sales channel and control over the execution of transactions," Aleksandr Bashliy emphasized.

The main purpose of special trading sessions for timber is to intensify trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan, to increase the volume of exchange trade between the countries.
