Belarus' HTP seeks to expand cooperation with Germany

The Hi-Tech Park plans to use all opportunities to expand cooperation with Germany, the HTP press service told BelTA.

The HTP hosted a meeting of its management with representatives of the German-Belarusian Economic Club. Among the participants of the event were HTP resident-companies North IT Group, Silk Data, Seavus, and A1 ICT Services. Deputy Director of HTP Administration Kirill Zalessky presented information about the park's activities, as well as achievements and potential of the Belarusian IT-industry. “The Hi-Tech Park today is without exaggeration the largest driver of the Belarusian economy. It accounts for almost 5% of GDP and 33% of Belarus’ export of services,” Kirill Zalessky emphasized.

Discussing the prospects of Belarusian-German cooperation in IT, the deputy director said that the Hi-Tech Park's export to Germany was only 3.4% of the total export of HTP residents in 2021. “We need to use all opportunities to expand cooperation,” he said.

In turn, head of the German-Belarusian Economic Club in Belarus Stefan Hoffmann said: “In the current situation it is important for European business to build its work in Belarus not on rumors and speculation, but to get reliable information from the source. The Club is grateful for the opportunity to exchange opinions on the state and development of the Belarusian IT industry in 2022, especially in the context of cooperation with German companies.”
