Andreichenko: Belarus has something to offer its partners

Belarus has something to offer its partners, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said at the closing of the sixth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the seventh convocation, BelTA has learned.

"Despite the efforts to isolate our country in the international arena, Belarusian MPs continue to actively develop contacts with colleagues from Eurasian states, ASEAN countries and Latin America. It is important that these relations are built on the principles that completely exclude interference in each other's internal affairs. The economic agenda comes to the fore. Thus, the annual China Forum on International Legal Cooperation discussed the topical issues of optimizing the rules of international trade and investment within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative. China is our most important strategic partner. Urgent tasks to bring relations between our countries to a new level were outlined in president's directive No. 9. In this regard, the MPs need to draw up thorough proposals for the implementation of the directive at the parliamentary level," Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The speaker noted that Indonesia is a reliable trading partner for Belarus. "It has become the fourth market for Belarusian potassium chloride and plans to increase the volume of purchases. This country is also interested in the supply of our automotive equipment and in setting up joint ventures. We have developed constructive relations with our Indonesian colleagues, as evidenced by the results of their recent visit to Belarus. It is important to monitor the implementation of agreed projects, especially since representatives of Indonesian business are going to visit our country again. We should work with Latin America and others the same way. The potential is huge there. In particular, it is necessary to develop contacts with Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador on the platform of the Latin American Parliament. it is necessary to continue an active search within international organizations for points of convergence of economic interests of different countries.” he stressed.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, Belarus has a lot to offer to its partners. “The development of new markets should remain in the focus of the parliamentary friendship groups' attention. Their task is to facilitate the implementation of plans to increase Belarusian exports and reorient imports. We need to buy the goods we need in the countries friendly to Belarus and its people. The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs should play a coordinating role in this process. As for the Western vector, we need to increase our efforts to defend our national interests. This is the main task for the Belarusian delegation at the upcoming winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna,” he added.
