Belarus looks to increase exports to Israel

Belarus plans to increase the export of goods and services to Israel. The matter was discussed at an inter-session meeting of the Belarusian part of the Belarusian-Israeli joint committee on trade and economic cooperation, which was chaired by Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan, BelTA learned from the website of the ministry.

“The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the issues that need to be solved in order to increase the exports of Belarusian goods and services to Israel, including as part of the preparations for the next meeting of the joint Belarusian-Israeli committee on trade and economic cooperation scheduled for 2022,” the ministry said.

The participants of the meeting discussed foreign trade in goods and services with Israel, as well as the ways to increase exports. “In January-September 2021, the task for the export of goods to Israel, set forth by the government, was fulfilled. The participants of the session also stated that there are reserves to increase the export of Belarusian goods and services,” the ministry said.

Taking part in the video conference were Belarus' Ambassador to Israel Evgeny Vorobyev, representatives of the Industry Ministry, Agriculture and Food Ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Forestry Ministry, Sports and Tourism Ministry, Healthcare Ministry, State Committee on Science and Technology, Bellegprom Concern, administration of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone, and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“A protocol was prepared following the meeting to secure specific measures to expand the product range and increase exports of Belarusian industrial products, agricultural products and food to Israel, increase exports of tourism and educational services, attract new residents with Israeli capital to the Great Stone Industrial Park and expand scientific and technical cooperation, as well as other areas to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and Israel,” the ministry said.
