Security, crime prevention named common goals of CIS states

 

The Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states held a video-conference on 11 October. Taking part in the online meeting were representatives of the ministries of internal affairs of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

 

 

Alexander Burov, Director of the Department for Security Cooperation and Countering New Challenges and Threats of the CIS Executive Committee, noted that two fundamentally important security tasks have been successfully addressed. “First, a set of basic agreements and programs on joint response to modern challenges and threats was adopted. Second, a multi-format and interconnected system of CIS bodies has been established and is up and running to ensure coordination between security agencies in the field of law and order,” Alexander Burov said.

 

The agenda included 14 items. The meeting discussed the cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of the CIS countries, the state and prospects for the development of the base organizations in the field of combating crime, cooperation in preventing criminal uses of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency, building the potential for interaction in solving crimes in information technology, including internet fraud, cooperation in preventing the involvement of minors into destructive groups.
