An offline session of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 19 May. Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas will take part in it, BelTA learned from CSTO Press Secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov.
The ministers of foreign affairs of the CSTO member states will discuss the state and prospects of development of the international situation and the regional situation and their influence on the security of the CSTO member states.
The CSTO Foreign Ministers Council is expected to make important political statements concerning the Collective Security Treaty Organization's cooperation with international organizations, the extension of the period of validity of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (SNV-3), and the 75th anniversary of the verdict of the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg.
A plan on consultations about matters of foreign policy, security, and defense in H2 2021 – H1 2022 will be discussed as well as a plan of events timed to the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's foundation.
Before the session begins the CSTO foreign ministers are expected to meet with Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon.
