Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk on 9 May. Flowers and wreaths were also laid by top-ranking government officials and representatives of public organizations, clergy and diplomats.
Those present at the ceremony observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to all the heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War.
Alexander Lukashenko welcomed the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus and talked to war veterans.
