Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei took part in the 51st Munich Security Conference and called on the EU countries for constructive engagement in bilateral relations, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus reports. The Foreign Minister of Belarus attended the 51st Munich Security Conference, which is one of the biggest and authoritative international forums to discuss the security policy and cooperation in the military area. During the talks with representatives of the EU countries the minister provided Belarus’ approaches to a further development of the dialogue with Brussels and called for prompt constructive engagement in bilateral relations. Discussing the conflict in Ukraine the minister stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire between the conflicting parties. Vladimir Makei also voiced Belarusian proposals on the regulation of the conflict in the region. The Belarusian minister discussed the ways to intensify trade and economic cooperation with representatives of Afghanistan, Egypt, Kenya and Pakistan. The parties agreed on intensifying interaction in the political sphere and international arena.
