On 3 March 2015 Belarus will join the Agreement on Global Technical Regulations for Wheeled Vehicles, Equipment and Parts, the UN Press Center reported.
The agreement of 1998 is a legal base to develop global technical parameters for wheeled vehicles, equipment and parts to promote their safety, reduction in gas emissions and theft protection.
Belarus will become the agreement’s 35th signatory. Currently among its member states is the European Union, Australia, Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Malaysia, New Zeeland, the Republic of Korea, Russia, the United States, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, South Africa, Japan and other states.
