The Belarusian railroad design institute Belzheldorproject plans to take part in designing the infrastructure for railways in Azerbaijan, BelTA quotes Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Nikolai Patskevich. In his words, the implementation of joint projects in the sphere of civil engineering has become an important avenue for advancing Belarus-Azerbaijan cooperation. In late 2013 Belarusian construction companies finished the construction of a housing settlement for forced migrants in Ismayilli District of Azerbaijan.
According to the diplomat, Belarusian design companies vigorously cooperate with Azerbaijani ones. In 2014 the Belarusian design institute BelNIIPgradostroitelstva started designing the general layout for the town of Gobu, which is located not far from Baku. The town will be home to 70,000 residents.
The diplomat said that plans have been made to hold a session of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in 2015.
