      The sandpiper festival will be held in Turov on September 28, said representatives of the NGO the organization "APB BirdLife Belarus".
       The purpose of the environmental festival, which is held not far from Turov meadow, is to attract public attention to this area, it is extremely important for its inhabitants - sandpipers and other wading birds. "Turov meadow is one of the most important places for nesting and stopping off during migration of more than 50 species. This area has an international status IBA (Important Bird Area.) In 2008 a biological reserve was established there" - "APB BirdLife Belarus" noted.
      The program of the festival includes a contest of school teams, shows and a concert featuring the group Vuraj. Also at the festival anyone can join the sports competitions, quizzes and master classes. All of them will be devoted to the birds.
