The first joint session of the Belarusian and Karelian working groups in charge of developing cooperation between the two countries takes place in Petrozavodsk, the press service of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus reports. The Belarusian delegation is led by Viktor Nazarenko, Chairman of the State Standardization Committee, who is also the chairman of the Belarusian part of the commission. The session discusses a large number of bilateral cooperation matters. The number includes assistance for Belarusian corporations to establish contacts with Karelian corporations, which are interested in buying automobiles, logging trucks, road and municipal vehicles, special machines, fire prevention equipment of Belarusian make, are interested in bolstering investment efforts and trade and economic ties. The sides look into possible ways to share information about exhibitions and fairs, the organization of visits for representatives of the business circles, including seminars, presentations, joint roundtable sessions, interaction between the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Karelia.
