On request of the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Nesvizh, the Lithuanian Art Museum restored Belarus’ most valuable and most expensive tapestry "The Triumph of Caesar", BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Lithuania.
“The restoration work began in October 2013. The tapestry is more than 400 years old. It is made of wool and silk,” the embassy said. The tapestry was woven by Brussels masters in the age of the Renaissance. It was inspired by the works of the 15th-century Italian artist Andrea Mantegna.
Now, the relic will take its rightful place in the Theater Hall of the Nesvizh Castle.
