MTZ to ship 400 tractors to South Sudan in July

Minsk Tractor Works MTZ will ship 400 tractors Belarus 80.1 to South Sudan by the end of July, BelTA reports.
In line with a new contract signed by MTZ and Alcardinal General Trading, the Minsk-based tractor producer will ship 800 Belarus tractors to South Sudan. 400 tractors were shipped in June; the remaining tractors are to be shipped by the end of July. The deliveries of Belarus tractors to this African country in H1 2014 exceeded the deliveries in the entire 2013 four times. At present MTZ supplies its machinery to South Sudan via its exclusive dealer.
“South Sudan became one of the most important strategic partners of Minsk Tractor Works on the African market,” the company said. It added that South Sudan is interested in intensifying cooperation. There are plans to increase the deliveries of finished products and to expand the network of service centers in South Sudan. In May 2014 a representative of MTZ visited South Sudan and held talks with MIG Agricultural Co. Ltd. to discuss assembly production of tractors in South Sudan, the supplies of more tractors and training of technical specialists of the Sudanese company.
