Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Igor Petrishenko presented the medal "70 years of liberation of Belarus from Nazi troops” to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow on 28 July, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports. In his welcoming remarks, the Ambassador noted that the deeds and exploits of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War are worthy of eternal recognition by the international community. Attending the event was the head of the central administrative district of Moscow Viktor Fuer. In his statement on behalf of the Government of the Russian capital, he stressed that the victory in the large-scale offensive Operation Bagration is the clear evidence of the unshakable Belarusian-Russian friendship. In turn, the veterans wished the current generations to live in peace and harmony. According to the veterans, today there should be no place for oblivion, blasphemy and revision of history. The participants of the meeting were presented with the book "The Country of Guerilla Movement”, a joint Belarusian-Russian edition.
