The international satellite TV channel Belarus 24 has started broadcasting in test mode using the ABS 2 satellite. The transition to the new satellite will enable the TV channel’s broadcasts across entire Russia.
The satellite Express AM22 has been used to broadcast the TV channel Belarus 24 in Russia (from Kaliningrad to the Urals), in the CIS states, Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa since 2007. The new satellite ABS 2 is much more capable than the predecessor. It is one of the most powerful devices meant to service Russia, Southeastern Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In addition to improving coverage onto entire Russia the satellite will improve signal quality and noise resistance.
Now entire Russia can watch Belarus 24.
For now Belarus 24 is being broadcast using both satellites. Broadcasts using the old one will stop as from 22 June. The TV channel also uses the satellites Hotbird A13 and Galaxy 19. Belarus 24 is available in about 100 countries and 270 million viewers.
