Minsk Oblast to celebrate Victory Day with dozens of events


       Minsk Oblast will celebrate the 69th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War with dozens of events, BelTA learnt from the main department for ideology, culture, and youth affairs of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
       For example, Molodechno will hold a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial to the victims of the Great Patriotic War and a concert. The memorial complexes Khatyn (Logoisk District), Kurgan Slavy (Smolevichi District), and Stalin's Line (Minsk District) will hold celebration events with participation of the local authorities on 9 May.
       The cities and towns of Minsk Oblast will organize meetings to commemorate the victims of the war, processions with participation of veterans and representatives of different companies and enterprises, wreath-laying ceremonies, concerts, and theatrical and sports events. Traditionally, the celebrations will feature fireworks. The Belarusian state museums will update their expositions about the Great Patriotic War. The libraries of Minsk Oblast will hold themed movie screenings, exhibitions, months of war books, and other commemorative events. 
The celebrations will also include different public, cultural, and patriotic campaigns, marathons, forums, quizzes, art competitions for the best painting, short story, poem, etc.
