Opportunities for cooperation between Belarus and Cuba will never be exhausted, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Santiago Perez Benitez told the media on 29 September, BelTA has learned.
“Cuba and Belarus have a traditional friendship, mutual love and concrete cooperation in all areas of economy, politics and social life. We have been under sanctions for 60 years. Belarus has always helped us. Our relations with Belarus are very strong and are at a high level. We should work together to counteract sanctions. We help Belarus, and Belarus helps us. Belarus will withstand the way the freedom-loving Cuban people have stood for all these 60 years,” said Santiago Perez Benitez.
According to the ambassador, the two countries need a more flexible approach to interaction. “We have to strengthen our relations in all the areas. I think we have to make a qualitative shift in the areas where we interact a lot. With each step we get new horizons in our interaction, including in IT, joint projects in Cuba, your best agricultural practices, cattle breeding and plant growing. There are so many areas for cooperation. Our economies are very similar. We have reached a great potential. I think that the opportunities for our cooperation will never be exhausted,” he stressed.
The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus is hosting a meeting of the Cuban delegation with Belarusian MPs. Plans are in place to discuss trade and economic relations between the two countries.
A delegation of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce led by its president Antonio Carricarte arrived in Belarus on a working visit on 26 September. The events which have already taken place include a business forum and meetings with heads of enterprises. The parties reached agreements on cooperation in mechanical engineering, agriculture, pharmacology and IT. The visit will last through 30 September.

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
