Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko talked to the media and summed up the results of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan on 26 August, BelTA has learned.
"We delivered Belarus’ position regarding the further development of the union in a very substantive and clear manner. The period when we were combating barriers and obstacles to trade is almost behind us. In fact, the free trade market is functioning. We need to look to the future now. We must move from a trade union to an economic and industrial union and to implement joint industrial projects. Production ties have remained in place. New production facilities and technologies have emerged. We need to create joint end-to-end products," Roman Golovchenko said.
The Belarusian side proposed a pilot project "Eurasian Electric Bus". "There should be a clear production program. We see understanding on the part of our colleagues. We are yet to agree on tools of financing," he said.
Another important aspect of the latest meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was the conclusion of an agreement to set up of the Eurasian Reinsurance Company. "This is important because our market is quite narrow. We used to be able to insure large projects in the West, but they imposed sanctions. Thanks to the new agreement, we have the opportunity to reinsure the liability within the framework of the EAEU," the prime minister said.
The council has also approved a list of infrastructure projects. "This is important, because the issue of transformation of logistics chains is a matter of survival. We have identified projects that each country will implement separately. For Belarus, this is the reconstruction of the M1 and M10 highways. They will be aligned with the Eurasian transport corridors. There should be no bottlenecks, everyone will do their part. We must have stable land corridors towards South Asia and China," the Belarusian head of government said.

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
